sleepy time, finley

Since Grandma has been here, we've started sleep training. I'd tried it before on my own but didn't really know what I was supposed to do. I never liked the idea of letting him cry it out. It's not good for me because it makes me anxious and upset and I don't think it's good for him...at least at this age. Mom tried lying him down in his crib on Thursday and ever since then, it has worked. Maybe I'm speaking too soon, but it looks like it's going to be a pretty easy transition from rocking and walking for 20 minutes to lying him down in his crib, whispering to him and patting him for 2 minutes. We have a book called "Sleepy Time Olie". There's nothing really special about the book, but I've started to whisper to Finley about 'sleepy time Finley' and how he always goes to sleep when he's supposed to and doesn't fuss or cry, and settles right down.
