christmas vacation--december 17

It seems like a long time ago when these pictures were taken, yet, the time went by so fast while we were in Charlotte. December 17 started off for us at 2:30 a.m CST. We packed up the car and then woke Finley up to start our 5-hour journey to Minneapolis. All was well until we got to the suburbs of Minneapolis where they were just trying to clean up from the blizzard that we'd had the day before...we didn't take that into account when planning. Traffic was at a standstill and when we moved it was to go forward a few feet. We called for a traffic report and found out that there were 10 major accidents in our immediate area. Finley was just waking up and we knew he'd want out of the car seat. We also had about an hour and a half to make our flight. Boy were we sweating as we sat in that traffic. We did make it to the airport with plenty of time since the flight was delayed and we made our flight out. VeggieTales was my best friend on that flight. We had nice people around us and that helped a lot. Finley really liked the man sitting in front of us and he kept poking him through the crack in the seat. The man was really nice about it though and even played with Finn for a little bit. What a relief to land in Charlotte and find that our bags were among the first to come off of the conveyor belt...I guess that's what happens when you are the last to arrive for your flight (I'll have to remember that next time). It's always neat to see Finn's reaction to my family since he doesn't see them very often. He went right to my mom and started talking up a storm on the ride home. Here are some pictures of that afternoon and evening.

Here is Finn clapping and eventually dancing...more of the crazy dance from a couple months ago.

Becky and Chloe came over after Becky got off of work. What a sweet baby Chloe is. I honestly only heard her cry a handful of times the whole vacation. Finley liked to lie down next to her and several times he tried to roll on top of her. He loved Chloe and tried to hold her several times.

Chloe and I. I was amazed all over again at how much she looks like a little Becky. It really is like looking at Becky's baby pictures.

More of Chloe/Becky. =)

More clapping.

Cute face, Chloe.

Finley holding onto Chloe while they lay on her blanket. He was so content to have her that close to him.

I love this picture of them looking at each other. I can't wait until May when they will see each other again and be able to play more.

Wow, that was fun looking back at the 2 weeks you were here. The time just flew by, and I wish we could turn back the clocks and relive them all over again. Such cute pictures and videos. Thanks.
Love, Mom
