hello, good-bye--the carseat is upgraded

Wednesday night before coming home from GF, we bought Finn a 'big boy' car seat. Since Finn still hates his 'baby' car seat, we decided to install the new one right away so that we could try it out on the way home...just to see if Finn traveled any better. Well, there we were in the parking lot of Wal-Mart...Matthew installing the 'big boy' car seat and me crying as I put the 'baby' car seat in the trunk. I was so upset that he didn't fit in his baby one anymore. I dried my tears though before Matthew could see...he wouldn't understand, although he may have been a little sad too...and we got in the car to go home. As soon as we started down the road, Matthew turned to me and asked, "You're not going to cry, are you?" in that kind of voice that says, "I don't want 2 crying babies the whole way home". I sucked it up and we made it home with Finn serenading us with his crying...he didn't like the 'big boy' car seat any better. At least with the 'baby' car seat he was turned the other way. Now the crying is directed right into our ears. =)

Good-bye 'baby' car seat. You've served us well, although Finn may not agree. I remember how tiny Finn looked in you when we brought him home from the hospital. Hard to believe that was 11 months ago today. =(

Hello 'big boy' car seat! You take up half of the back seat, but I'm sure you will serve us well too. I don't know why a baby needs two movable arm rests and two cup holders, but okay...and don't let the smile fool you, he knew he was getting out soon.

But wait!!! Last night I had the 'baby' car seat out cleaning it up getting ready to put it away and guess who just HAD to sit in it again! That's right, he whined and complained and pitched a horrible fit until I let him crawl in it...and then I HAD to buckle him in. After 11 months of crying in this car seat, he ends the nightmare of traveling in it with a smile.

Here is the video of Finn saying "jet".

Hmmm, so you ARE keeping the old car seat.
I wonder what you would keep a baby car seat for?!

Tom and Annie might use it...that's what we're keeping the baby car seat for.
